14:30 – My Manekineko

A claiming hurdle with not much solid recent form. Beyond the Law and You Can’t Catch Me are both previous course and distance winners but both would need to recapture old form to be involved but I fancy My Manekineko to go well.

This horse won a race on Sunday at Downpatrick over slightly further than this distance when staying on very strongly on that occasion. Will be out the back in the early stages but coming with a late burst will see this horse run a big race and he can be back in the winners enclosure again.

15:32 – Envious Editor

Two-mile maiden hurdle where again the form isn’t strong but I fancy the seven-year-old Envious Editor who is an experienced sort with 14 races so far and will hopefully get its head in front. Has only had one run this year so far when finishing an outpaced fourth that day. Has some decent form prior to that when placed on a couple of occasions but I expect this gelding should strip fitter for that recent run and should be bang there at the finish.

Denise Fosters horses are going well with an 18% strike rate in the last two weeks. Robbie Power is on the cold list however at the moment, so he will certainly be hoping he can get back to winning ways.

16:35 – La Feline

Two mile Beginners Chase where there are a couple of runners who ran in a mares beginners chase race here a little under three weeks ago and re-apposing in this race and I expect La Feline to have a big say. This mare was a remote second the last day behind a very useful sort. This mare ran at the Cheltenham festival 2020, behind the likes of Concertista who was pipped on the line this year and also Colreevy and Mount Ida who have both managed to win last week.

This mare obviously hasn’t showed her true potential as of yet and I expect a big improvement in here, also Paul Nolan’s horses are going well so I expect her to be bang there at the finish.

17:05 – Defi Bleu ** NON-RUNNER **

2m 4F Chase is the best race on the card where Robin Des Foret for the Mullins stable will be fancied to go well, but hasn’t seen a racetrack in over 150 days but certainly is capable of winning a race of this nature. With the stable in such good form, the gelding is hard to oppose but I fancy Defi Bleu to go in again at a small bit of value.

This gelding was a winner of a small four runner contest the last day at Wexford over three miles, stepping back in trip should help his cause and also has the assistant of young Jordan Gainford taking off a valuable seven pounds which is a further plus for this gelding to run another big race.
