MUDAWWAN can be forgiven a below-par run at Southwell last time. He’d previously won on this surface at Newcastle and looks the one to beat off a 3 lb higher mark here. Steal The Scene is a multiple course winner and has to be respected down in trip. Any market support for Gold Coast would have to be taken seriously.

17:20 – Blue Cable

BLUE CABLE IS going the right way at present and, having finished strongly when second over 6f at this course last time, he’s fancied to get back to winning ways having just his second career outing over this trip. Broughtons Flare made a mildly encouraging start for his new stable last time, so he’s considered as a danger along with Viola Park.

17:50 – Kettle Hill

KETTLE HILL looked a nice prospect last summer and whilst he has to overcome an absence, his trainer is very capable with these types and he makes most appeal. Big Wing looks the biggest danger after a creditable debut here in October. Mount Marcy is an interesting newcomer that can’t be ruled out.

18:20 – International Law

INTERNATIONAL LAW makes plenty of appeal having finished hot on the heels of a couple of unexposed types off this mark over C&D last week, in turn pulling nicely clear of the fourth. Next on the list is Sky Lake, who makes her debut for new connections on the back of solid placed efforts at Wolverhampton and Lingfield the last twice. Must Be An Angel is best of the rest.

A good handicap with 4 of the 7 runners last-time-out winners and DOCTOR CHURCHILL is the tentative selection to get the hat-trick up although good cases can be made for Komore and the returning Arcadian Nights. Shaqeeqa isn’t out of it if getting this trip, either.

20:20 – Trawlerman

There is more to come from Derby-entry TRAWLERMAN after an encouraging start at Chelmsford and he can set sail with a first success. Newcomer Man of Riddles is appealing, while there are probably races in Atacamena and Kinderfrau also.
