He was still going well when unseating at the twelfth at Hereford last time, and with further improvement still a possibility, he gets the vote to bounce back to winning ways.

14:50 Just Go For It

Stepped up in trip, Just Go For It showed improved form to get off the mark in fine style at Hereford last month, going on from two out and drawing well clear on the home turn, running out a 19-length winner. She carries a mere 7 lb penalty for that impressive performance and is very difficult to oppose.

15:25 Sandford Castle

Sandford Castle finally got off the mark in a lowly race at Taunton in December, and he has continued in good form since then, running at least as well to finish third at Exeter and second at Chepstow, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory on the latter occasion. He is going through a good spell at present and another bold showing should be on the cards.

16:00 Kilbrook

A runner-up in points, Kilbrook showed plenty of promise in his firth three outings under Rules, making an encouraging start to life in bumpers before running at least as well quickly switched to hurdles at Newbury in November 2019. He was pulled up at Wetherby on his latest outing but reportedly finished lame on that occasion, and he remains with the potential for better. He sets the standard in this contest and looks worth another chance with first-time cheekpieces applied.

Admiral Balko showed plenty of ability when second on his debut at Bangor in November, travelling like the best horse in the race but just losing out to one who’d already had a run over hurdles. He has failed to build on that twice since, but he rates a likely improver now stepped into handicap company, and with this step up in trip also likely to prove a positive, he is expected to be bang there.

Ishkhara Lady took her unbeaten record to three when dead-heating for first in a listed bumper at Cheltenham in November, plenty to like about the way she went out things on that occasion, and this looks a good opportunity for her to make a successful switch to hurdles. She is an exciting prospect and should have little trouble opening her account over obstacles.

17:35 Go Dante

Purchased for €170,000 as a three-year-old, Go Dante is an interesting newcomer for Olly Murphy, a trainer who does particularly well in bumpers. The son of Kayf Tara is a half-brother to the fairly useful Angel Of Harlem, and though he will no doubt prove better over obstacles in the future, there is enough in his pedigree to suggest he can handle this sort of test.
