The experience of three runs over hurdles, the most recent in a strong Leopardstown maiden, may give course 1m6f winner ILMIG an edge over Palace Rock, a good recent winner over 1m4f at Dundalk, and Barncroft, a newcomer from the stable which has established the best lines to juvenile form this season. The dam of Dreamsaremadeofthis was a very useful hurdler, and her trainer has won a couple of maiden hurdles recently.
Manitopark AA will probably be all the rage again and there’s a good chance she’ll improve for better ground this time but a chance is taken on SANTA ROSSA being fit enough to do herself justice on return from an absence. She had some smart bumper form to her name and shaped well when not beaten far on hurdles debut when last seen.
Hugh Morgan will be popular on Young Dev after last month’s heroics, but slight preference is for CASTLE TOWN HOUSE who has a realistic chance of reversing recent course form with Fierami. Having finished off his race well at Gowran Forrard Away has a definite chance despite a 10lb rise.
This should be relatively straightforward for NOBLE YEATS, a runaway winner of a 2m3f Thurles bumper before a Grade 2 bid at Leopardstown. His most interesting opponent may be Mr Josiey Wales who beat a subsequent Harry Fry-trained bumper and hurdles winner in a maiden point in October 2019. Brandy Harbour is a place possibility.

An intriguing feature event with several potential improvers in the line up. SCARLET AND DOVE (nap) is probably the one to beat if she’s none the worse for a fall in a mares’ Grade 2 at Thurles last time. She was pulling clear with the eventual winner that day and had previously looked impressive when bolting up at Limerick. Epson Du Houx may be able to resume progress after a creditable run in a valuable handicap last time out.
A very tricky puzzle to solve and it’s difficult to gauge what sort of ability some of these have left but LEAN ARAIG has been running well of late and a return to 3m could be the answer for him. Neverushacon is interesting back over regulation fences and both Kavanaghs Corner and Wishmoor have form that ties in closely with the selection.
Several of these arrive in good form and some will be suited by the forecast drying ground. SOVEREIGN GOLD will be hard to beat if she builds on her handicap debut from last time and even a repeat of that level of performance could be enough. Exit To The West may resume progress back over fences and Fag An Bealach is one of those who should appreciate better ground.
