12:00 Meydan – Panadol
PANADOL has only won a Meydan maiden so far, but it was a very impressive debut and Mickael Barzalona gave a masterful ride on the occasion. However, he now steps into Listed company against some battle hardened horse in this trial for the UAE Derby. I was really impressed with him and I believe he has the beating of El Patriota, who has to give weight here.
13:45 Meydan – Down On Da Bayou
DOWN ON DA BAYOU won the UAE Oaks last year having been second in the UAE 1000G and would have ran in the UAE Derby had the World Cup night not been postponed for the year, so when she was run on turf two weeks ago it caught my attention.
That turf run should have helped her get to race fitness and at the price with Paddy paying an extra place on the race, she proves the value in an open competitive contest.
14:20 Meydan – Al Suhail
AL SUHAIL looks the class in the race and reminds me somewhat of Ghaiyyath in that the Charlie Appleby team are showing patience with him. Lord Glitters is the main danger, but on paper the race is unlikely to plan out for him in that he need to come off a strong tempo and I feel that is unlikely to develop here.

14:55 Meydan – Hypothetical
HYPOTHETICAL is making only his fifth start for Saeed Bin Ghadayer and has developed into steadily into a World Cup horse. He is tackling 10 furlongs on dirt for the first time here and this is a nice test for him in a competitive affair that should prove very tactical. That’s because many in the race are likely to be fighting for the same space in the race.
15:30 Meydan – Fleeting Prince
FLEETING PRINCE was very underwhelming over 7 furlongs last time out, but his first run at Meydan over 6 furlongs was good and the draw could have been kinder. I am happy to take a chance on him here at the prices as Paddy is paying an extra place here too. On form he isn’t too far off Man of Promise, who is should be shorter in the market than him.
