17:45 Newcastle – Attaboy Roy
Race two over 5f where Attaboy Roy has the best line of form with a good win last time out when staying on strongly to score at Southwell. Has been off the track since but repeating that run will be hard to beat.
Of his rivals, Accrington Stanley was a good second 11 days ago and will be hoping to be close up again, but I think Attaboy Roy, with that recent success and its previous races here have been decent when placed on his last three starts should have a chance. In addition, the jockey William Carver has only had three rides the last two weeks, has had no win but two horses have been second its his only ride on the card. I think it’s a great opportunity for both horse and jockey to have some success here.

19:15 Newcastle – Kilconquhar
Class six, 6f handicap with seven runners in the race with previous course and distance form to go off. Wicklow Warrior and Billy Wedge are both last time out winners and will both hope to have a chance again but I fancy Kilconquhar to get back to winning ways.
This four-year-old returned to the track the last day after an absence and ran a solid race when second, only beaten a head by the aforementioned Billy Wedge after being awkward at the start of the race when rearing as the stalls opened, which possibly cost him the winning of the race. It’s the only runner for trainer Alistair Whillans who’s stable is going well with two winners from his last 11 runners (18% strike rate) and jockey Billy Garritty also going quite well with a winner and two seconds from his last three rides and I just think he can get this horse back to winning ways.
