18:20 Chelmsford – Nahaarr
Just the four runners in this race but high in quality. Nahaarr ended last season in brilliant form and I’m sure Trainer William Haggas will have big plans for the season ahead with this lightly raced five year old.
He ran an incredible race to win the Ayr Gold Cup when finishing with a late surge having got no luck in running in his final race of last year. It’s his first run of the season, and Nahaarr is the trainer’s only runner on the card. Ryan Moore is booked to ride and the step up in trip will definitely suit. Bigger and better things lie ahead for Nahaarr this coming season.

19:20 Chelmsford – Pitchers Point
This looks a match race between Pitchers Point and Lexington Force. The John Gosden-trained Pitchers Point had a run at Newcastle two weeks ago which gives him the fitness edge over his main rival. Gosden has made an incredible start to the season. Pitchers Point is also a course and distance winner and cheekpieces are on for the first time which shows the trainer’s intent to get him back to winning ways. The trip takes some getting and the fitness edge gives him a big advantage over Lexington Force who may need the run.
