However, preference is for dual C&D winner FAMOUS DYNASTY who ran another fine race here last month and was poorly drawn last time. Momtalik looks best of the rest as although he is best known for his Southwell exploits he did run with credit in one previous visit here.

14:50 Cheeky Az

There shouldn’t be much between Currency Exchange and Albert Camus on their Newcastle run and both remain capable of better. This step up in trip should suit CHEEKY AZ, though, and he’s selected to make a winning handicap debut.

15:25 Zen Dancer

Sugar Dumpling faces a tougher task under a penalty and this may rest between Four Adaay and ZEN DANCER. The latter shaped well over C&D five weeks ago and remains capable of better.

River Wharfe may prove best of those with handicap experience but there are strong grounds for expecting better today from handicap debutantes ROSEMARY AND THYME and Propagation. The selection was prominent in the betting in all three juvenile runs – fairly unusual for one from her yard – and wind surgery during her absence could prompt significant improvement.

A market move for any of the newcomers should be noted, but of those with experience Shaqeeqa achieved the most when only just caught in a Kempton handicap 15 days ago. She would have a big chance if repeating that, but she is drawn wider than ideal so a chance is taken with SPIRITUOSO who showed more than on her debut when third over 6f here last time. She promises to be suited by stepping back up in trip and the stable won this with a twice-raced filly last year. Day Trader has shown enough in three starts to suggest he won’t be far away.

16:55 Tajdid

If ready to roll on this first start in 145 days Sea Of Charm would have a solid chance on the second of her three starts last autumn, while He Can Dance also holds major claims on his narrow defeat in a C&D handicap last month. He is drawn widest, though, so a chance is taken with TAJDID who showed little in two starts on turf last autumn, but is bred to do much better on this surface.

17:25 Everkyllachy (NAP)

Not many of these come into this at the top of their game but Charles Le Brun has run well in all four starts since switching to the AW with cheekpieces applied and is likely to run his race again despite the longer trip. Shackabooah remains lightly raced and shaped last time as though the return to this trip would suit, but preference is for EVERKYLLACHY (nap) who has run creditably returned to 7f the last twice and would have a serious chance if breaking better than she has been lately.
