This is a competitive race but I fancy Remastered. He’s had a couple of wins and won over three miles on heavy ground in a two-horse race. He didn’t beat that many at Weatherby but I still like him here. There’s a lot more to come from him as long as there’s enough of a test – I think he wants as far as he can get. You hope when it’s gets testier at Ascot that he can shine.
I think he’s more in form coming into this one, the David Pipe yard are doing well.
I’m going for Main Fact, trained by the Pipes again. I’ve forgiven the last run because it was so crap that it was too bad to be true! I hope so anyway… I have doubts over the favourite Itchy Feet. He might jump the fences a bit big and slow. That’s what I remember of watching him jump fences. That could see him lose a lot of ground over this trip. On The Blind Side is very good but definitely beatable and I fancy Main Fact to win here.
I’ll be honest, this is the race I have the least strong fancy for! I’m picking a horse that couldn’t be less reliable in Captain Chaos. The Skelton stable is going pretty well at the moment. On the odd occasion, when Captain Chaos puts it all together he’s a great talent but it’s a case of stick a cheeky 10p on it I think! It’s a tough one this.
I fancy Enqarde here. He keeps on getting better and better the more I see, even if it’s a big step up, he still impresses. When Dr Newland has a plan for something, I love following it. I think this has been the plan for a while. He really enjoyed himself last time out and I think a test of stamina here will suit him well.

The one I’m going for hasn’t won in quite a while but was second at this track last year. Four of his last six races have been at Ascot so he loves it here! Also with the Paul Nicholls stable going well, I think he could well have a go at this. So I’m backing Malaya at a big price in an each-way punt.
I started off with a big red marker by putting a line through Goshen and assuming he’s gone. I just feel it’s a big leap of faith to back him. Instead, I’m going for Navajo Pass. Song For Someone could easily win it but I’m hoping that Navajo Pass has grown as a five-year-old. I think he’ll see out the trip well and the ground could suit him.
If it’s a tough race to get home on, Navajo Pass could shine. If Goshen’s back to his best then he should win but I’m refusing to back him.
I was trying to get away from Cyrname and I’ve also got Master Tommytucker written down but scribbled out! I think Cyrname is the obvious one in an unattractive race in terms of betting. I don’t think I’ll be getting stuck in at odds-on.
