Chris Gordon’s BLAME THE GAME (nap) is downgraded from an Ascot handicap in which he finished second in December and can go one better off the same mark here. Tide Times ran poorly in that Ascot race but will be dangerous if somewhere near the form he showed when winning there in November.
All Good Things is safer than most but it’s a struggle to call him well handicapped. He’s taken on with STATE VISION, in the hope that Dr Richard Newland can get his career back on track. Devious Dicks Dame and Kingston Mimosa should also have a say.
Postman is dangerous on this drop in grade but the credentials of KAP AUTEUIL are there for all to see after his improved effort at Plumpton, which wasn’t unexpected according to the market.
Only CAPTAIN MORGS has a Cheltenham entry and that’s not complete fantasy on the promise he’s shown. After showing a tendency to hang left at Ascot and Kempton, it’s an obvious move to go back left-handed. Gericault Roque has nice potential but Shang Tang is feared most after 3m appeared a stretch in Graded company last time.

All eyes on FIRE AWAY, who won so easily at Musselburgh that he’s 13lb well in even with a penalty. Promising during his early days in Ireland, it’s unlikely there was any fluke about his recent success. Premiumaccess has looked a natural in both his runs over fences and he’s feared most, ahead of recent C&D winner Admiral Barratry and the ever-reliable Sir Jack Yeats.
The 12yo ROCKLANDER was very smart on his day for Tom George and he could be the answer on his hunter chase debut. After finishing second to Hazel Hill in his first point, he made no mistake in the second. Getting Closer and Dubai Quest are winning pointers with age on their side and are respected most in that order of preference.
The suggestion is FALLOWAY DUBREAU, who was travelling well when falling in his second point that was won by a now-useful hurdler. Exmoor Express could be the danger if not repeating his Exeter exit as there was definite promise to be taken from his debut run.
