18:30: Marly

Marly looks very interesting and is stable now representing trainer John Ryan, having been previously trained in France by Andrea Marcialis. The French form reads well and she went off favourite in a listed race at Fontainebleau back in November.

She missed the kick at the start and ran on strong to finish fourth there. Her previous winning form at Fontainebleau and Deauville make her an intriguing runner. Trainer John Ryan could have recruited a good one for the coming season. She could be quite simply too good for her rivals in this race dropped in class.

20:30: Cozone

Cozone was hugely impressive in defeat at Wolverhampton three weeks ago. A bad draw in that race left jockey Hollie Doyle in a terrible position on the outside. To his credit he ran a brilliant race to finish second, running on strongly down the outside. It’s hard to put an exact figure on the ground lost in running but he was an unlucky loser.

That was his first run for new trainer James Ferguson and I’m sure connections were delighted with stable debut. The draw is much better here and the extra time to get used to new surroundings are all positives. Adam Kirby will take over in the saddle and he is a big danger to all.
