17:00 Dundalk – Baltinglass Abbey

This is our selection’s first start for the John James Feane stable having already produced a fair level of form around this particular ballpark. BALTINGLASS ABBEY seems fully effective at 5 or 6 furlongs and has a nice middle draw position to boot. The yard is searching for that elusive breakthrough victory in 2021, but they have been very light on runners and it won’t take them too long to get back into that winning rhythm.

17:15 Southwell – Dyagilev

It’s only Simon Pearce’s second full season with a license and he has made a very smart start to the campaign notching a double and also a 66/1 winner to boot. They were a little under the weather and he took the decision to give them some time off, that has been rewarded handsomely with the form of the stable. David Probert takes over in the saddle on DYAGILEV here, who clearly has a liking for the fibresand surface and the yard’s hot run can continue.

18:30 Dundalk – Lady Andaz

I put LADY ANDAZ up as a selection a few weeks ago and she just came up short over 7 furlongs. The drop to 6 furlongs was too sharp last time, but up to the mile on Friday evening with the headgear added can see her get that first victory on the board. Being a half-sister to Terebellum, it’s vital she gets a win before her second career.

19:15 Southwell – Three Cs

A four-time winner at this specialist track, and THREE CS seems to have been found a decent opportunity to go back-to-back by his excellent young trainer George Boughey. He backs up here having been successful under Mark Crehan in an apprentice contest and so is a winner returning without a penalty to carry. The front two were a long way clear of the chasing pack last time and the short margin of victory can be upgraded.

19:30 Dundalk – Masalai

MASALAI has found a sudden jolt of improvement since the application of cheek pieces being applied and he now is fully focused on the job in hand. He doesn’t win by wide margins, which makes it a little tricky for the handicapper to get a good assessment of his ability. But, he seems to have not taken too many chances with a 6lbs rise this time. He clearly is on the up though, and doesn’t look at his ceiling yet.

20:15 Southwell – Morlaix

It was only a maiden handicap that MORLAIX managed to win last time here over shorter, but it was a pretty competitive contest for the grade. Stepping up in distance is going to be a massive positive for this big galloping son of Mayson, who’s progeny seem to relish these conditions. It looks a little bit of a match-up between him and Blowing Dixie, but our selection definitely has more of an upside to his profile.
