16:45 Raging Rascal (NAP)
Raging Rascal nearly caused a huge shock on debut at Goodwood in August, sent off at 66/1 and only beaten half a length in second by the eventual winner. That race probably hasn’t worked out as well as expected, but it was still a very promising debut from Raging Rascal, who was pushed along from two furlongs out and did all of his best work at the finish.
That isn’t surprising given he has plenty of stamina in his pedigree, but it is surprising that he makes his return from six months off over the same trip. Still, Raging Rascal sets a healthy standard on form here, and represents a yard that is going well at present.

17:15 Tinto (NB)
This looks a competitive handicap, but Tinto has been shaping better than the bare result on the all-weather recently, and figures on a fair mark now back in a handicap. Lingfield often doesn’t play to the strengths of his run style, usually held up for a finishing kick in the closing stages.
His record at Kempton, however, is much better, the longer straight allowing him to creep into the race much better, and there should be plenty of pace on here with Premier Power and May Sonic, who both usually like to get on with things. Tinto recorded an above-average closing sectional last time and is almost certainly in better form than his recent figures suggest. Expect him to be arriving late on the scene.

19:20 Stormbomber (E/W)
This looks wide open so a chance is taken on Stormbomber, who hasn’t won since October 2019, but has now fallen 7 lb below that winning mark, and ran his best race for a while when finishing fourth over a mile and a quarter at Lingfield last time. He received a good ride from this jockey on that occasion, and judged by that run he won’t mind the drop back to a mile now, while the reapplication of cheekpieces could eke out more, too. He will have a solid each-way chance if building on that now.
