Thedevilscoachman only has an ordinary pedigree, but won a bumper in good style on his sole start last season, and looked a good prospect when making a winning start over hurdles at Cork in November, easily beating a next-time-out winner. He was fast tracked to Grade 1 company on his next start, but was no match for Supreme Novices’ Hurdle favourite Appreciate It. He posted a useful effort when resuming winning ways at Navan last month, value for more than the three-length winning margin suggests, and looks the one to beat moving back up in grade now.
Pictures of Home remains a maiden, but went close in a maiden hurdle at Naas in December, and wasn’t disgraced upped to a similar trip on his handicap debut at this course last time. He wasn’t seen to best effect on that occasion, either, likely to have finished closer to the principals if not making a crucial mistake at the second-last. Pictures of Home was one paced after, but left the impression he is on a fair enough mark, and is worth another chance to confirm that.

Screaming Colours made a winning reappearance at this course in November and has shaped well in defeat on both starts since. He showed improved form when finishing second at this track last month, making up a lot of ground in the straight, leaving the impression he would be suited by the step up to this marathon trip. The handicapper has raised him 2 lb in the weights since, but he remains lightly raced for his age, and should launch another bold bid.
