There’s just seven weeks to the Cheltenham Festival and punters are already starting to pile into the antepost markets as they hunt for a bit of value.
Here at Paddy Power we’re just as excited and are currently offering non-runner money back on all races across the week at Prestbury Park.
Added to that, we’ve also boosted one of the most tempting trebles on offer ahead of the festival and racing fans are already jumping on board.
Speaking on the latest episode of our special ‘Countdown to Cheltenham’ podcast, Ruby Walsh and Frank Hickey discussed the novice chases and found it hard to avoid the market leaders.
“I think 4/6 is plenty skimpy on Shishkin but a lot of people will probably put him in accumulators and I’ve also picked two others from the novice chase division – Envoi Allen and Monkfish – to win the Marsh Chase and Festival Novices’ Chase. The treble looks fairly solid.
“If one was to get beaten, I think Monkfish has the most opposition in the Festival Novices’ Chase and that is why he’s the longest price. I’d love to say Energumene will beat Shishkin in the Arkle Challenge Trophy, because I think Shiskin’s price is too short, but I’m a huge fan and I was really impressed with him at Kempton at Christmas.”

Our top trader Frank agrees, and delivered the good news that Paddy Power will be boosting that Shishkin, Monksfield, Envoi Allen treble ahead of Cheltenham.
“We’re actually doing an enhancement on that treble, and there will be a lot of people who are mad keen to get on it,” said Frank.
“A lot of people would expect Shishkin to win the Arkle, Envoi Allen to win the Marsh and Monkfish to win the Festival Novices Chase (formerly the RSA Chase) – they’ll just say good luck and thanks!
“For those who like the treble, we’re going 9/1 from 15/2 for all three selections to win at Cheltenham.”
