She looks well treated on her old form and the application of a first-time visor could also help her bounce back to her best.

13:10 Famous Dynasty

Famous Dynasty was not seen to best effect when sixth over this course and distance three weeks ago, left poorly placed, and it wasn’t the first time in recent months that he has actually shaped better than the bare result. He won off a mark 3 lb higher than this at Windsor in August and could prove well treated in this low-grade handicap.

13:40 Furzig

Furzig proved better than ever as he resumed winning ways over this course and distance late last month, doing well from a less-than-ideal position, picking his way through in the final furlong before quickening to lead with 100 yards remaining. He has been in good form of late, running to a Timeform rating of 100+ on each of his last four starts, and he will certainly be of interest again.

14:10 Always Fearless

Always Fearless has been improving by the run in his last three outings, though without getting his head in front. After twice finishing third at this venue and then Wolverhampton, Always Fearless proved better than ever when coming up a neck short at Newcastle last time, taking a while to pick up but finishing well, just failing after conceding first run. That form has been franked since, the winner and the third both going in subsequently, so Always Fearless gets the vote to regain the winning thread.

14:40 Trixie Waterbury

Trixie Waterbury showed improved form to get off the mark over this course and distance last week, belatedly confirming the promise of her qualifying run and scoring in good enough style to think she’ll be capable of going in again, winning readily. She was 33/1 that day, and though she won’t be anywhere near that price this time, she is still worth siding with to supplement her maiden win.

15:10 Warrior Brave

Obtuse arrives here in search of a five-timer, and while he is clearly thriving at present, he may have his work cut out from a 9 lb higher mark. Warrior Brave can boast some good form of his own, making a winning start for Michael Appleby at Wolverhampton in November before finishing a creditable half-length second to Water Of Leith under a penalty at the same venue last time, and he remains open to improvement, this just his third run for his new yard. He is better off at the weights with Water Of Leith this time, and with progress anticipated, he gets the vote to make a successful handicap debut.

15:40 Touchwood

Touchwood has hit the crossbar at short odds on his last two outings, missing out by a short head at this venue in November, arguably unlucky not to win on that occasion, before being bettered by a more progressive sort at Kempton last time. This step back to six furlongs should show her to better advantage and she sets the standard in this field, so she is afforded one more chance to get off the mark.

16:10 Power Over Me

Power Over Me showed improved form to open his account for Robyn Brisland at the first time of asking at Chelmsford earlier this month, and he didn’t need to better that form to go in again over this course and distance on Thursday, doing well in the circumstances, overcoming a positional bias to defy a penalty and win readily. It’s likely that we haven’t seen his limit just yet and he is taken to complete the hat-trick under a 5 lb penalty.
