An interesting opener here and there are certainly a few options for punters in this one. I am going to side with Seelotmorebusiness for Paul Nicholls and Bryony Frost in the Big Buck’s silks. This horse on paper has done nothing wrong yet. Made a winning start under Bryony in a Ffos Las bumper and then went to Chepstow and won a maiden hurdle, when keeping on well despite novicey jumping.
There is sure to be improvement this this time round and the longer trip should not cause any issues. Another positive is the fact that the Paul Nicholls stable are very much in-form with 11 winners in the last fortnight and with a top pilot in Bryony doing the steering, this 6 year-old has a great chance.
I have gone for the top weight in this 2m handicap hurdle. The Neil Mulholland trained 6 year-old comes here in really good form for a yard that saddled a winner at Ludlow yesterday. This gelding enjoyed a decent festive period when winning twice and comes here seeking a hat-trick.
This horse got back in the winners enclosure with a win at Wincanton on St. Stephen’s/Boxing Day following a wind op and a first time tongue strap. Four days later Chinwag repeated the trick winning here at Taunton over 2m 3 f on heavy ground. This horse is going well and should be right in the mix at the business end of this contest.

I am going to take on the likely favourite Yala Enki with Harry Fry’s very smart hurdler If The Cap Fits. This horse is a Grade 1 winning hurdler who won on it’s chase debut at Ffos Las back in October.
Despite not having taken fully to the larger obstacles, the 9 year-old still managed to finish 3rd in a Grade 1 at Kempton on St. Stephen’s/Boxing Day. The trip is longer here (3m 4 f) and I feel this should help the horses chances. If The Cap Fits is my selection.
There was lots to like about this Mares chase debut when Whatsdastory finished 3rd at Southwell at the beginning of last month. If a little improvement can be made on the back of that run I feel it might be the one to side with here for Dr Richard Newland’s yard.
Last time out the rider was unseated at the first at Doncaster so I have just had to put a line through that piece of form and give her another chance.
