Cyclop has been rejuvenated this season, landing handicaps over fences and hurdles at Chepstow in November and, after narrowly failing in his bid for the hat-trick at Market Rasen last month, quickly resuming winning ways at Plumpton last week, drawing clear from two out and keeping on to win by 20 lengths. The way he won suggests he’ll continue to be of major interest, particularly given he escapes a penalty for that victory, and he makes plenty of appeal after making an interesting switch to Matt Sheppard’s stable.
A progressive sort over hurdles prior to being pulled up on his last start over sticks, Supreme Escape left his chasing debut well behind as he opened his account over fences at Chepstow last month, stepping up a long way even on his hurdles form despite finding the two-and-a-half-mile trip only just enough of a test. He jumped soundly and chased the leaders entering the straight, staying on to lead on the line having drawn a long way clear with the runner-up. He remains open to further improvement over fences, particularly now stepped up in trip, and he gets the vote to follow up.

Generation Gap was winless in seven attempts over hurdles, but he does have some decent efforts to his name, notably when sixth at Perth in September, making a good impression from a fair way back, and he shaped with promise on his first attempt over fences at Huntingdon last month. He is a point winner, but he looked in need of the experience on his chasing debut, finish fourth in a race won by Premiumaccess, who reopposes here. He is surely capable of better in this sphere though, and with Jonjo O’Neill’s yard in good nick at present, he makes appeal from an each-way perspective.
