12:50 Envoi Allen
Arguably the most eagerly-awaited contest is the first race on the card where Envoi Allen puts his unbeaten record on the line in the Grade 2 2m 4f Novice Chase. He has to concede 11bs to Asterion Forlonge, who much prefers going right-handed, and a few other good horses.
Asterion Forlonge fell at Limerick over Christmas but for Envoi Allen to have to concede 11lbs to him is still a big ask for the Gordon Elliott runner. I’m not going to oppose Envoi Allen, but this is interesting. Really interesting. It’s going to be some race.

13:50 Frere Tuck
Frere Tuck was eye-catching in Navan when finishing fourth in a maiden hurdle. He made a noise during the race and Paul Townend gave him a chance to recover and then he finished the race better than Paul thought he would.
Sometimes that can be deceptive as you’re only running past tired horses, but he wears a tongue-tie for the first time to counteract any breathing issues. If the tongue-tie works, he’s definitely one for the short-list and could be our best chance of the day.

14:20 Klassy Kay
Willie saddles Klassy Kay in the Mares Handicap Hurdle who seems in good form and will handle the ground. She won over 2m at Fairyhouse and the step up in trip now to 2m 4f should help her counteract the penalty she got for that as we were a little disappointed that she didn’t defy the penalty when third at Clonmel over 2m in December. She could collect again.
