Paddy Power has given his top tips ahead of racing at Market Rasen and Fairyhouse on Saturday.
Speaking on the latest episode of our From The Horse’s Mouth podcast, the main main picked out four fancies for punters to consider as well as also revealing his wagers for Warwick.
I’m not mad on Edwardstone so I was thinking that if OSCARS LEADER can get into the lead in the race and jump well, he can put them under pressure. Edwarstone unseated the last day and if his jumping is in any way sketchy, he might be found out.
Jospeh O’Brien has just come into form but all three of his runners are in JP McManus’ colours so keep an eye on the market. I thought THE SHUNTER winning The Greatwood Handicap Hurdle is an obvious way to prepare for a handicap chase. The Shunter, at 5/1, is in flying form and is slightly more appealing than Chatham Street Lad because of the price. I think the two of them will have it between them.

I’ve gone for LIL ROCKERFELLER here because it is only 2m7f. Lil Rockerfeller will obviously lead and while 3m will stretch him – when he gets beat, he tends to just get caught – running short of 3m will help and he might just be able to hang on. He’s a brave little horse and it would be lovely to see him win. At 15/8, I prefer him to On The Blind Side.
Eileendover could be very good and reading what Pam Sly said during the week was encouraging, saying they’ve been offered loads of money for her but she’s not for sale as she’s a ‘once-in-a-lifetime horse’. She’s had Group 1 stayers on the flat so she knows what they look like.
I’m assuming that they’re sending Grangee over from Ireland just to test the system. I don’t think they would be sending their No 1 Cheltenham Bumper horse over here as the speculative first horse going across to the UK in the current climate. You don’t want one of your top horses to go over and get stuck in a queue.
Eileendover is the most likely winner but I’ve gone for MERRY MISTRESS, just to be different. Often these hotpots get their bubbles burst and Merry Mistress, just like everything else, could be anything!
