14:40 Eclair Surf (NAP)
Eclair Surf cost quite a bit after easily winning the second of his two starts in Irish points, and he made a pretty smooth switch to hurdling on his Rules debut at this venue back in 2019, winning readily. He disappointed on his two subsequent outings over hurdles, but he has really come into his own over fences this season.
Handed a stiff opening mark on the balance of his hurdles form, Eclair Surf was arguably unlucky not to open his chasing account at the first attempt, just getting caught close home after a poor jump at the last, but he made amends in no uncertain terms when getting off the mark at Hereford last month, his jumping looking a real asset on that occasion as he won being eased down. 14:10 Bear Ghylls (NB)
Bear Ghylls looked something well out of the ordinary as he ran out an impressive debut winner of a Warwick bumper in March, travelling powerfully as he broke his rivals one by one at the end of the back straight, and he has done nothing to dim expectations around him in his two starts over hurdles thus far. He did plenty wrong at Lingfield on his first outing over obstacles, but he still won with a bit to spare, and he maintained his unbeaten record with another comfortable success at Ffos Las in November. He is a most promising young horse for the underrated Nicky Martin yard, and with plenty more improvement still to come, he is fancied to outclass his rivals here.

15:40 Neetside (E/W)
A dual point winner, Neetside went very close to opening her account under Rules when second on heavy-ground at Taunton this time last year, proving at least as good as ever as she bustled up a well-treated one. She wasn’t in the same form next time out, but she was in the process of running well when departing at the last on her return to action at the same venue in November, not likely to have won but destined for another place finish. She must enter calculations provided she is none the worse for that fall.
