This is a weak race for the grade and another chance is given to GIOGIOBBO, who was a multiple winner in Italy/France and has dropped a long way in the weights in Britain. He holds leading claims on his penultimate effort. Thegreatestshowman is a likely danger if he turns out quickly. Market support for British debutante Penelope Queen should be heeded.

Samovar remains consistent and is weighted to turn things round with both MULZIM and Duke Of Firenze on recent C&D running, but his losing run is into the 20s now and the top weight, who’s won three of his last four over C&D, is fancied to confirm placings. Ustath, who’s progressed well since switched to Fibresand and is currently 2-2 over C&D, is the other with realistic claims but a further 3lb rise leaves little room for manoeuvre.

Silent Queen finished lame when turned over at a short price on her latest start four months ago and has the best part of a stone in hand over the likes of Expert Opinion and Swooper in receipt of the sex allowance. She sets the standard but there are questions at a likely short price and ZOOM STAR, who’s open to improvement, is preferred.
15:30 Straight Ash
Having ended a losing run that stretched back more than two years and proven his stamina by seeing off False Id over C&D two weeks ago, STRAIGHT ASH is fancied to confirm placings on 2lb worse terms. The lightly raced Mister Blue is another to consider.
