Mick’s brought us his punts for a huge day of action.

13:15 Leopardstown – Buildmeupbuttercup

We’ve got another feast of action on ITV with racing for Leopardstown, where we have some top quality action, and from Newbury, where the feature is the Grade 1 Challow Novices’ Hurdle. Concertista looked really good winning at Fairyhouse beating Minella Melody. BUILDMEUPBUTTERCUP has gone on a winning spree and some of that form is really strong. I like the way she gets it done and that will do for me.

13:30 Newbury – Dickie Diver

Sevarano has looked really solid in his two chases on differing ground, but has climbed up the ratings as a result. Demachine has really impressed me in his two starts over fences and lots of horses have come out to win from his races. The interesting one is DICKIE DIVER, this is a good horse who has had some time off and could be the each-way steal.

13:50 Leopardstown – Monkfish

Latest Exhibition was second to Pencilfulloflead at Punchestown last month having already won at that track. There was not much between him and MONKFISH at the Cheltenham Festival in the Albert Bartlett back in March, but Monkfish was so impressive in the flesh. He is massive and chasing looks a really natural fit for him. That’s why he gets the selection.

14:05 Newbury – Chtibello

The only worry is the trip for CHTIBELLO. He was staying on at Aintree and the slower they go the better it will suit. Kateson is a dour stayer, and, if he is allowed to keep picking up without being hassled, he will be very dangerous.

14:25 Leopardstown – Saint Roi

SAINT ROI got beat by Abacadabras in a very messy race at Punchestown back in November, but it’s interesting to note that they have put a tongue tie on Gordon Elliott’s horse. Aspire Tower bounced right back to form at Down Royal in October by slamming Abracadabra by 4-and-a-half lengths. I really fancy SAINT ROI here, but Sharjah is the interesting one if the ground does not get too soft. If it is only yielding by Tuesday have a little each-way on Sharjah.

14:40 Newbury – Manofthemountain

MANOFTHEMOUNTAIN was disappointing on quicker ground at Cheltenham in October, but I am still willing to give Emma Lavelle’s charge another chance at a flat track like this one.

15:00 Leopardstown – Jacksons Gold

JACKSONS GOLD won at Thurles over 3m and Roscommon over 2-and-a-half miles, so is a versatile operator. Alice Curran is a small trainer, and you could argue that Jacksons Gold would be shorter with a more fashionable team.

15:15 Newbury – Star Gate

There is a few unbeaten by cards over obstacles in here, including The Glancing Queen, who won at Warwick, and Star Gate, who has won a great race at Sandown at the start of this month and a hurdle at Chepstow in October.

Wilde About Oscar, who has been impressive at Aintree and Uttoxeter, is on that list too. Kim Bailey has Does He Know in here, who has rattled up a hat-trick. Meanwhile, Bravemansgame looked so good when running away with a race at the track last time that he will probably be the favourite. But, I have been super impressed with STAR GATE and he gets the nod.

15:45 Newbury – Shanacoole Prince

Trainer Bailey has SHANACOOLE PRINCE in the last as well, and he should manage to pull it out with David Bass onboard. He was second to Glajou at Southwell last time out, and King d’Argent and Exelerator Express could challenge here, but I think he can go one better over the same distance.
