This maiden claiming race can go to the once-raced MY BABYS GONE, trained by Austin Gustafson who is enjoying a purple match at Remington of late – firing in winners at a rate of 30 per cent. She made her debut on Nov 11 over 6f when getting the worst of the draw and being trapped wide for the whole race, still running pleasingly to be beaten by less than four lengths. She should come on a tonne for that and faces a weak enough field here, even for this grade.
Darpa should be quite popular here for the powerful Karl Broberg barn and should appreciate the drop in grade. She should find this plenty sharp however, as her best form is over further. Drawn just outside her is ALEXS BOURBON, who is an out and out sprinter. She has bags of early speed and I’d expect her to get an easy enough lead her and hopefully prove not for catching.

Just Ask Joel hit the crossbar in this grade on December 2 and will get plenty of support here. He steps up to a mile here, which I see as less than ideal as he’s failed to stay the trip on three previous attempts. Ready preference is for DAVIDIC LINE, who drops to claiming level having been running really well in stronger allowance company. He should take all the beating here.
Steve Asmussen needs no introduction with 415 winners in 2020 so far, and he looks to have a great chance of adding yet another winner here. INSURRECTION returned from a layoff to fire in a career best on November 1 when just tiring late in this grade to finish a close up third. He’s entitled to come on for that and any step forward at all will make him the clear one to beat.
We close the card with a maiden claiming race that is full of professional losers. In terms of the best form, Dedes Trick and Tell Me Boo Boo set the standard but have racked now racked up 41 runs without getting the head in front – they look best avoided. I’m taking them on with FATEFULLY YOURS who is only making her 5th start and has been getting better with each run. She posted a career best third on November 27 and repetition of that will have her bang there in the finish.
