16:00 Merweb

Pink Jazz produced a good performance to win here in first-time blinkers a week ago but preference is for MERWEB, who rediscovered some form when fourth over 7f at Lingfield last month. That was only his fourth start for Ronald Harris and he might well be seen to better effect now back up in trip and returned to Tapeta. Golden Cygnet ran well on her stable debut and remains unexposed, while Beau Geste earns high marks for consistency and also gets a mention.

16:30 Gypsy Dancer

Most of these are fully exposed and although a case can be made for Steal The Scene, Olivers Pursuit, Amor Fati and Dawn View, the most interesting runner by some way is GYPSY DANCER. She’s been off the track for 281 days ahead of her stable debut but the form of her Dundalk fourth in March looks very strong, with the three to beat her all rated significantly higher now than they were at the time. Given this is much weaker, and she’s 1lb lower, she’s worth chancing despite the absence.

17:00 The Mackem Torpedo

Genuine and reliable, THE MACKEM TORPEDO looks the best bet after another fine run when second over 7f here last month. There are several lurkers who have fallen in the weights and would be dangerous if returning to form. Chief among them is Coastal Mist, who could be revived by blinkers.

17:30 Supercali

Although It Must Be Faith is respected under his penalty and Our Man In Havana is back to his last winning mark, both look vulnerable. Deconso and Miracle Garden have fair claims, but Marwari, Quiteacatch and SUPERCALI could be ahead of their handicap marks and the latter is narrowly preferred after an eyecatching effort at Redcar last time.

18:00 Mythmaker

Narrowly beaten by an enterprisingly ridden winner here two weeks ago, MYTHMAKER has a reasonable chance of going one better in an open race. Jackstar, who split two of today’s rivals on his debut for Mark Loughnane, should build on that and looks the chief danger. Hart Stopper is a less obvious contender but stepping back to 6f may spark a revival.

18:30 Thrill Seeker

Those with form hardly set a lofty standard and the well-bred newcomer Makeen needs watching closely in the betting. Golden Age looked decidedly green first time out and could improve a fair bit but preference is for the more experienced THRILL SEEKER, who may do better now he’s been gelded.

19:00 Luna Wish

Recent C&D winner Trevie Fountain is respected off his higher mark, while cases can also be made for Pallas Dancer, Rainbow Mirage, Angels Faces and Dors Toyboy. However, it may be worth taking a chance with LUNA WISH, who has run better than her form figures suggest on her last two outings over 1m and is feasibly treated now back to a trip which may suit.

19:30 Kick On Kick On (NAP)

The unexposed contender here is Show Me A Sunset, who is fitted with cheekpieces for his handicap debut and may prove well suited by dropping back to 5f. He’s much respected but KICK ON KICK ON (nap) looks ready to strike after a narrow defeat over C&D when he had three of today’s rivals behind him. A subsequent below-par effort at Lingfield is easily ignored. Ballyare has not had much luck lately either and looks best of the remainder.

20:00 Maxine

An open race in which the vote goes to MAXINE, who didn’t get much luck before finishing well to snatch third in a C&D nursery in October and is on the same mark here after a short break. Hat-trick seeker Spirit Of Rowdown is feared most, though Zoolander probably paid the price for chasing a strong pace last time and has claims if he can recapture the form of his close call here on his penultimate run. Others who need watching in the market are the unexposed nursery newcomers Step Sister and Kingdom Found.
