16:05: LUNA MAGIC

Recent course winners Richard R H B and Whatwouldyouknow should be on the scene but there are others to consider. Widaad should go well on his handicap debut but a chance is taken on LUNA MAGIC, who is 2lb lower than when runner-up in this 12 months ago.

16:40: GLORIOUS DANE

Faramman has the best rating but still needs to prove he can run to that figure for his new stable and is going into unknown territory over 2m. GLORIOUS DANE has form at this distance over hurdles and this looks his easiest task since joining Julie Camacho.

17:10: SANDRET

With a combined record of 5-6 at this venue Athmad and The Met are greatly respected, while handicap debutant Blow Your Horn is also interesting. However, SANDRET may be able to defy top weight on the back of a positive run last time.

17:40: RIVER CHORUS

The leading contenders are the thrice-raced RIVER CHORUS, twice-raced Lady Percival and once-raced Fairy Cakes. They are listed in order of importance on form but may be evened up by varying degrees of improvement and preference for River Chorus is only tentative.

18:10: HOODWINKER

Having finished second in a couple of turf races, HOODWINKER sets a fair standard and can go one better. Closely matched rivals Mymatemarmite and Damned Elusive are on the next rung of the form ladder, while Paquita is open to improvement.

18:40: TAPETEN TONI

Recent winner Liberty Bay has to be respected but TAPETEN TONI has looked in particularly good heart of late, winning with something to spare at Chelmsford and then keeping on in good style at Newcastle after being switched from a low draw to the stand side numbers. Night Narcissus should also figure, along with Eastern Delight.

19:10: TYCHE

A wide-open handicap that could go to TYCHE. The lightly raced three-year-old has progressed well since fitted with cheekpieces and stayed on strongly over 6f last time. The extra furlong here could do the trick. Shine On Brendan rates the biggest danger ahead of De Little Engine and Dubai Elegance.

19:40: DOCTOR NUNO

Preference is for DOCTOR NUNO (nap), who has a solid chance on his form since joining Tony Carroll and looks open to further improvement in ordinary contests on this surface. Second choice is handicap debutante Trixie Waterbury, whose latest novice effort has substance. Sky Lake and Bobby Joe Leg complete the shortlist.

20:10: MOOHAREEBA

Judged on breeding there should be plenty of improvement to come from MOOHAREEBA and she’ll be all the more interesting if the market speaks positively on her first start since her March debut. Night Ranger and Wannabe Betsy also enter calculations, while newcomer Affwonn needs a check in the betting. Ricksen has had a few chances already but he brings the best form.
