Ruby Walsh has cast his eye over an intriguing card at Doncaster on Saturday, picking out three best bets who could bring home the bacon.

Speaking on the latest episode of Paddy Power’s From The Horse’s Mouth podcast, our resident jockey-turned-pundit is expecting a couple of favourites to live up to their reputation while Sir Alex Ferguson could be set for some success up north.

2.05pm – Ofalltheginjoints

There are a couple at Doncaster where the favourite will be so hard to oppose, and OFALLTHEGINJOINTS is the first one. I tried to pick one of the others in this race – House Island, Hurricane Harvey, The Mighty Don and Milanford – but I just can’t see them beating him. I think the trip will suit him, Robbie Power is going up to Doncaster instead of maybe going to Cheltenham and it just ticks all the boxes for me. I just can’t find one to beat him – it’s as simple as that.

2.40pm – Monmiral

I think Gordon Elliot has a good line on where Glorious Zoff is at the moment, as he ran at Sedgefield already where he was beaten and he beat Crassus at Sligo.

I watched MONMIRAL win at Exeter and he didn’t scream to me like a horse that wants to go to Doncaster. I know he jumped fractionally to his left but Exeter is quite a stiff track while Doncaster is quite a fast track. There could be something that could do him but I’m going to stick with Paul Nicholls again as I don’t think there is anything in this race which is good enough. He jumps left but I just think he’s too good for them. He’s won in France, he’s won at Exeter and I think he’s a short-priced favourite that will go in.

3.15pm – Give Me A Copper

Paul Nicholls has sent sending Monmiral up to Doncaster, who Sir Alex Ferguson owns a share in, and GIVE ME A COPPER runs in Sir Alex Ferguson’s colours – I thought Nicholls might be lining a couple up for him.

Give Me A Copper is a very fragile horse, but a talented one. This is his first run after his wind op and he is top weight but is a great each-way shout in what looks an open race.
