BUSHYPARK has landed a couple of touches for connections the last twice and the hat-trick is very much on the cards judged by his wide-margin success at Haydock last week. He made light of a 15 lb hike in the handicap with the minimum of fuss, always travelling well and clear of his rivals when making a mistake at the third-last. Bushypark escapes a penalty for that success and is impossible to oppose able to race from the same mark.
Sandy Thomson continues in a rich vein of form and MYMILAN remains a horse to be interested in. He has been strong in the market for both of his starts this season and did better than on his reappearance when beaten two and a half lengths in fourth at Carlisle last time. That was a respectable performance in first-time cheekpieces and the return to three miles can only help his cause. Mymilan is now 1 lb lower in the weights and another bold bid is expected.
WEST END LADY was pulled up on her sole outing in points last year and made a highly encouraging Rules debut in a mares’ novices’ hurdle over course and distance last month. She was worth plenty of credit for keeping tabs on the first two who had already shown good form over hurdles and she was still in with every chance when not too fluent at the final flight. West End Lady can benefit from that initial experience now and conditions will be in her favour.
ABSOLUTELY DYLAN has fallen to an attractive mark and returned to form when beaten only by another revived rival who had also dropped in the weights at Uttoxeter last month. Admittedly, Absolutely Dylan isn’t sure to build on that, but this doesn’t look a strong race, and he is now 14lb below his last winning mark.
GOLAN CLOUD was beaten only by Bushypark on his return to action at this course last month and that form has been franked in no uncertain terms since. Golan Cloud travelled better than most on that occasion, too, pulling clear of the remainder but just unable to go with the thrown in winner. He has to be of interest now racing from the same mark and Jennie Candlish has been in top form of late.
SOUTHEAST ROSE confirmed the encouragement of her chasing debut when opening her account over fences by three and a half lengths from Nettlebush over course and distance last month. She bettered her hurdles form in the process and should have even more to offer. A subsequent 5 lb rise should be workable and is fancied to follow up.
A maiden hurdle that is lacking clear depth, so this looks a good opportunity for SOPHIE FATALE to finally get off the mark. She has finished placed on all five starts over hurdles, finishing runner-up three times, and the level of her form is much superior to her rivals.
