The Oliie Pears-trained 8yo has slipped to a good mark and was seemingly back in the groove when second over C&D ten days ago. Deftera Lad should also feature.

14:25 Daddies Diva

Most of these have something to prove. Boy George would have been of significant interest from a more favourable draw but he still needs consideration. Trevie Fountain shouldn’t be far away if he stays but DADDIES DIVA is down in grade and her penultimate third at Chelmsford was encouraging.

14:55 Windsorlot

Regal Eagle and Word Of Honour won different divisions of a similar handicap over C&D last week and both remain of interest despite their penalty. The absence of headgear is surprising for the former though and perhaps it may pay to look elsewhere. The booking of Ben Curtis for WINDSORLOT looks significant and the pair can team up for their third course success of 2020.

15:25 Shielded

Bridesman is a notable newcomer for whom the market should provide clues. Rockets Red Glare and Parish Academy have the best form but it might be worth siding with SHIELDED, who looked inexperienced when not beaten far as favourite at Chelmsford on his recent debut and should know more this time.

16:00 Sea La Rosa

Romantic Song sets a fairly good standard and is open to improvement if the added cheekpieces have a positive effect but SEA LA ROSA wasn’t far behind the Godolphin filly when fourth over C&D on last month’s debut and is selected in the hope she can progress past her old rival. Loving Dream finished only seventh on her debut at Kempton but ought to be more streetwise here and, with Robert Havlin booked, she is seemingly the pick of John Gosden’s three runners.

Split Elevens finished ahead of NORTONTHORPE BOY when placed off today’s mark at Lingfield a fortnight ago and might be aided by the addition of cheekpieces here but Phil McEntee’s gelding gave a pretty good account there and may capitalise upon a recent 3lb drop in the weights. Next on the list is Desert Mist, who ran on well for fourth over 5f here on her nursery debut and now moves back up in trip.

17:00 Social City

Halfwaytothemoon and Kangaroo Point remain capable of better, while Iconic Belle and Manjaam should give their running under these conditions. SOCIAL CITY did well to score at Lingfield 13 days ago though and a 3lb rise doesn’t handicap him out of things.

17:30 On The Right Track

A good race for the grade. Ex-Italian filly Truly Together needs watching for market confidence, while a case can be argued for seven of the other eight runners. Bad Attitude has more on his plate under a penalty, while Fortultous has to prove he can replicate his Fibresand form on Tapeta. Perhaps ON THE RIGHT TRACK, who showed a willing attitude when scoring here five weeks ago, will be the answer.
