Imperium is proving very progressive on the all-weather, winning three of his four starts on an artificial surface, and he will continue to be of interest. He was very strong in the betting when successful in a course and distance handicap last month, value for much more than the half-length winning margin suggests.
That was his first run for seven weeks, too, so he is entitled to take another step forward now, and a subsequent 6 lb rise may not be enough to stop this low-mileage four-year-old following up.
Amniarix is a promising filly who showed much-improved form on handicap debut when winning at Wolverhampton last month, racing freely and found plenty to lead in the final 100 yards after being switched out entering the straight. The manner in which she drew clear suggests she has plenty more to offer and she should be well suited by the step up to a mile now. An 8 lb rise looks more than fair and this well-bred filly is fully expected to follow up.
Congrats to Owen in Dublin who wins 10K and a shot at a million quid on New Year's Day!
Be sure to opt-in next week to be in with a shot of winning a million quid. Opt-in will be available onsite/app from Thursday afternoon!
Fly Falcon was well backed switched to the all-weather and built on his debut promise to win a minor event at Wolverhampton on his final start last year and shaped well upped in trip when fourth at Doncaster in June. He started a big price that day and left the impression he needed the run and, while it is a little concerning he hasn’t been seen since, Fly Falcon has moved yards and undergone a gelding operation. The booking of Jamie Spencer is a plus and an opening mark of 83 looks workable.
