12:38 at Ffos Las – Bear Ghylls
Bear Ghylls might not be much of a price but he’s a horse with a huge amount of ability and was a really impressive winner in a bumper up at Warwick last season. A lot of people were watching that race because they had high hopes for Your Darling but Bear Ghylls absolutely hacked up there.
He made his reappearance at Lingfield last month and was equally impressive and that looked a really warm race. He won there easily despite absolutely clobbering the last hurdle and almost taking it home with him. This might be Nicky Martin’s best horse yet and I can see him going to The Festival with a bit of a live chance. He might have a big penalty but I think he’ll beat it easily.

I’m going to go with the one who was second in this race last year as an each-way play, Mon Lino. Paddy’s paying extra places in this race so it’s well worth getting involved. Last year he was beaten just under two lengths of a mark of 123.

He ran a lovely pre-race over hurdles last time at Clonmel over 3m off a mark of 122. He will stay, which is half the battle in these extreme-stamina type chases and he’s still only eight so he could still be improving as well. He’s worth a few bob each way, but it’s a very competitive race.
Frank’s Double for Sunday’s racing pays 11/1
