Plenty of these in with chances, notably Dee Sprinter and Maggie Thunder who are closely matched on their form from last week. However, a chance is taken on BLASTOFMAGIC who tends to run well fresh and will appreciate a return to this surface.

16:30 Crossguns

A wide-open race and it might be worth taking a chance on one at a likely each-way sort of price. There are a few reasons to think that CROSSGUNS could take a step forward from his recent efforts on turf, most notably the switch to all-weather. He’s looked unsuited to very testing ground on turf of late but his previous runs on a sounder surface produced more promising efforts and both first-time cheekpieces and a step up in trip could see him improve. The likes of Clonard Abbey and Tham Luang have been running well around here of late and they look set to give another good account.

17:00 New Moon Rising

Spilt Passion looks a nice prospect who should appreciate a step up in trip but she’ll need some luck from her wide draw and similar can be said for Give Her A Squeeze. NEW MOON RISING was in behind the former here on debut but she looked green that day and she’s taken to reverse form with that experience under her belt.

17:30 Kalu Pande

This is competitive but a chance is taken on KALU PANDE whose latest run over an insufficient five furlongs is best ignored and he will appreciate this step up in trip now handicapping with headgear fitted. Vazzy shouldn’t be ruled out after his good run here last time, depsite having to race from out of the weights.

18:00 Woodstown

Ferrybank can stretch well here and Russian River should take the beating. WOODSTOWN was fresh on debut here in a hot fillies’ maiden, the new trip seemingly a good move.

This looks pretty open. JO MARCH’s connections had a ludicrously easy handicap winner here Monday and her debut effort was promising, the yard also represented by a lively one here in Hala Joud. Twilight Sun and Let’s are more obvious than Olivia Valere, noted at a price.

19:00 Mrs Bouquet

Plenty in with chances in an unpredictable sprint. MRS BOUQUET did it with a swagger here recently. Master Matt is considered, though a soft lead is unlikely. Goodnight Girl is the most intriguing of those at a bigger quote.

19:30 With A Start (NAP)

WITH A START (nap), one of six horses out of the handicap here, makes plenty of appeal. Stamina is up in the air for many of these but not King’s Vow, who is readily forgiven his hurdling woes of late. Construct will likely try to stretch them, with Blue Shadow hoping to pounce.
