It will be no surprise if Imperial Icon and Thais Toir show a deal more in this modest handicap but the best recent form is BRAVE JAQ’s narrow defeat and that earns him the vote.

13:40 Princess Midnight (NAP)

Although No Quarter Asked and Khanisari may improve for the switch to fences and Pottlereaghexpress should be able to build on her fair reappearance effort, this looks good for the progressive PRINCESS MIDNIGHT (nap), who can defy a 4lb rise for her recent C&D success.

14:15 Onchan

With Paul Nicholls continuing in red-hot form, C&D winner Young Buck looks sure to make a bold bid under his penalty. However, the concession of 6lb to ONCHAN may not be easy as Lord Windermere’s brother has shown ability over hurdles and promises to be suited by this stamina test. Geordie Washington shaped well at a big price on his debut and may prove the best of the rest.

All sorts of possibilities with four last-time-out winners and other serious contenders as well. Valse Au Taillons is 5lb ahead of the game but this is much tougher than Warwick last week. MOLLY OLLYS WISHES shaped far better than her Wincanton finishing position suggests and is preferred.

However, there are some some nicely bred newcomers pitched against him, including Arbennig, Sherborne, War Call and MISS FISHER. Nicky Henderson’s filly, a half-sister to the yard’s high-class Mister Fisher, will have been well prepared for this debut run and may take some beating. Libberty Hunter and Flying Nun are others to consider.
