Horse Racing Tips: A 9/1 play leads the way at Newcastle this evening

The Racing Post deliver their 9 best bets at Newcastle on Tuesday including the 9/1 play Enoughisgoodenough (17:15).

Newcastle all weather

15:40 Eagle’s Foot

First and a close third in the same C&D race last time out, EAGLE’S FOOT and Teescomponentsfly make most appeal today given that they are lightly raced 3yos who may well therefore be capable of further improvement. Wemyss Point, Echo and Rukwa also showed something over C&D on their latest outings.

16:15 Samoot

Some interesting newcomers from major stables here with Cheshire Plain, Sacristy and Snow Empress probably the picks on breeding. Any market support for them should be heeded, but SAMOOT showed plenty of promise on her Sandown debut in August and, although not seen since and dropping a furlong, that form still makes her the one to beat. Her sire’s fine record here is another positive.

16:45 Victory Heights

Having twice run well at this track, whereas easily his main form rival Miss Nay Never has never raced on AW, VICTORY HEIGHTS appears to have a good opportunity. If the selection repeats his latest form, it will set a high standard for the Fahey-trained newcomer Musaytir to aim at.

17:15 Enoughisgoodenough

Richard Hannon’s filly ENOUGHISGOODENOUGH showed her most promising piece of form over 6f on heavy ground, so we can’t be sure she’ll build on that performance under today’s very different conditions. However, that risk is offset by her excellent pedigree and considerable potential for improvement. Attaboy Roy was placed over C&D on last month’s nursery debut and, with useful 3lb claimer Ray Dawson booked today, he is second choice ahead of Navajo Spring, Tapeten Toni and Elland Road Boy.

17:45 Calonne

The recent course winners Broctune Red and Stealing Silk both hold solid claims, especially the latter who looks open to more progress. However, this can go to CALONNE whose third in a better contest over C&D seven days ago reads well in the context of this race. There should be better to come from Budanova and she is well worth monitoring in the market on handicap debut.

18:15 Come On Linda (NAP)

Chosen World went close over 7f here recently and a subsequent 4lb rise ought to be manageable but COME ON LINDA (nap) has fewer miles on the clock and has been shaping very much as though her turn is near. Amor Fati, Newmarket Warrior and Zealous are others for the shortlist.

18:45 I Know How

here was little between Continental and Mo Henry over C&D a fortnight ago and the former may be able to confirm the placings despite the revised terms. She’s greatly respected, but I KNOW HOW should be sharper for a recent run and can gain his third C&D success.

19:15 Castle Quarter

If building on his improved effort over C&D a fortnight ago Billy Dylan would have a solid chance as he looks to have dropped to a good mark, but dual course-winner CASTLE QUARTER also looks well handicapped having returned to his last winning mark. The drop to 6f for the first time looks an interesting move too. Superiority and handicap-debutant Katelli are others to consider.

19:45 Insurplus

Such is his current mood, the progressive Burrows Seeside has to be respected despite the 5lb higher mark and step back up in trip, but with a few in here that like to force it this could set up nicely for five-time course-wiinner, INSURPLUS who also finds himself off a favourable mark. The consistent Chloellie is another to consider.
