Who are the favourites to win PGA Championship 2024? Paddy Power odds for Valhalla golf major

Who will triumph at Valhalla?

Brooks Kopeka PGA Championship 2023

With the Masters over, all eyes turn towards the second major of the golf season as the best players head to Valhalla for the PGA Championship.

The event is unique in the fact that it is only open to professional players, unlike the other three majors which accept amateurs.

Brooks Koepka is the defending champion and became the first LIV golfer to win a major last year. He will be hoping to retain but faces huge competition.

Unsurprisingly, last year’s runner-up Scottie Scheffler is fancied after winning at Augusta last month and claiming victory in the RBC Heritage signature PGA Tour event shortly after.

The last time the championship took place at Valhalla was in 2014 and Irishman Rory McIlroy won the coveted trophy on that occasion.

Scottie Scheffler

Scottie Scheffler

Scottie Scheffler has started the 2024 season incredibly well and he’s looking to add his second major of the year to his trophy cabinet.

He’s widely regarded as the best golfer in the world at the moment and he will take some beating.

Rory McIlroy

After a disappointing showing at the Masters, Rory McIlroy will be hoping he can get back on track at a course he has good memories of.

The Irishman sensationally won the PGA Championship for the first time in 2014 – and it was at Valhalla!

Brooks Koepka

Defending champion Brooks Koepka recently triumphed in the LIV Singapore event so will head to Valhalla full of confidence.

He’s been by far the most successful LIV player so far and his victories have really helped prove that players can still win the big prizes even if they’re on that tour.

Jon Rahm

Another player everyone expected to be in contention at Augusta was Jon Rahm, but it wasn’t a great week for the Spaniard.

He only managed a 10th-placed finish in the LIV Singapore event so will need to improve if he’s to win the PGA Championship for the first time.
