As you can see from the Euro 2024 odds, England are favourites to claim the whole thing.
The problem is, we’ve been here before! They were favourites in the 2006 and 2014 World Cups, and second-favourites at Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup.
The best they’ve had to show from the last 58 years of hurt is one penalty shootout defeat to Italy in the Euros final three summers ago.

Now, our tip isn’t to blindly back +2.5 goals on every match this summer. However, if there is a grossly uneven match – such as those in the knockout stages – then it’s likely to feature three or more strikes.
Back Germany to Impress but Not Win
The European Championships host nation hasn’t won the trophy on home soil since France in 1984. Portugal (2004) and France (2016) reached the final but lost in their national stadiums, as did England at Euro 2020.
Sorry German bettors but we don’t reckon Die Mannschaft will be crowned champions of Europe this summer. Germany are 5.0 to win the whole thing but a smarter wager is for them to reach the semi-finals at 2.10.
Mbappe vs Kane for Golden Boot
The big football betting tip when it comes to major tournaments is to back a Golden Boot winner from a team that has a chance of winning the actual thing. Rasmus Hojlund may be a £70m Manchester United forward but are Denmark going to reach the latter stages this summer? Probably not.
When betting on the Euro 2024 Golden Boot it’s just as crucial to look at the team as the player. Kylian Mbappe (5.50) and Harry Kane (6.50) are favourites to score the most goals at the Euros this summer because they should – if their teams live up to expectation – have six or seven games in which to score.
