Naples fort Myers is back in action for a 12-race programme kicking off at 6pm.
6:16 Trap 7 – Superior Aladdin @ 5/2
Race 2 on the card is a maiden race; Trap 7 Superior Aladdin is a real interesting runner, has had six races so far and has managed to be second on three occasions and two of those were in his last two starts. He stays very strong so keep an eye close to home because he will be staying the strongest and could break his duck in this race.
6:48 Trap 3 – Joes Johnny Cash @ 7/1
Race 4 is Grade B action and all eight runners are in with a chance. Trap 3 Joes Johnny Cash won a grade C contest a couple of starts back, moved up to this grade and has handled it quite well. He has been placed on his three starts, only beaten a half-length when closing and finishing quite fast so if he doesn’t leave himself too much to do at the start he could certainly land the spoils.
7:36 Trap 7 – Vegas @ 7/2
Race 7 is a Grade B and trap 8 is the last time out winner in the line-up but I am siding with Trap 7 Vegas. This Aug 18th dog won two starts ago and finished second last time out. He is an experienced sort with over 30 races on his card so far, winning six and placed on a further 16 times. He will have to find a little on the clock but I think he could do it and definitely is in with a major shout.
8:24 Trap 6 – Shadow Birch (NAP) @ 13/5
The 10th race is the best race on the card being a Grade A race. Trap 6 Shadow Birch is the one they all need to beat. This dog has managed to win four of his last five starts, winning quiet handsomely last time out by three lengths. He can do it from the front or from behind, he’s flying at the moment and I think his form could continue. He gets the NAP vote as well to go in again.
8:56 Trap 2 – L Steele @ 3/1
The final race is a Grade C race. I fancied Trap 2 L Stelle last time out but unfortunately he let me down when finishing second so I think he could go one more this time. You won’t see him early doors but is a stout stayer and did close in on his rivals last time but just left himself too much to do. If he doesn’t leave himself too much to do he could claim a medal in this one.
