WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

The US Masters 2022 takes place between Thursday, April 7 and Sunday, April 10 but who is the favourite to add their name to the roll call of winners? We’ve taken a look at the favourites in Paddy Power’s betting market.

Jon Rahm

A lack of victories since the US Open in June 2021 has seen Jon Rahm lose his spot at the top of the world rankings but he has still secured a whole host of top-10 finishes.

2018’s fourth place is his best performance at the US Masters to date and he has been in the top 10 on four of his five starts at Augusta.

Justin Thomas

Justin Thomas has failed to lift any silverware since the 2021 Players Championship but he has secured eight top-10 finishes in his last 11 PGA Tour events.

The 28-year-old has not missed the cut in all of his six appearances at the US Masters and was fourth in the 2020 edition.

Dustin Johnson

The fact that two holes have been lengthened since last year’s tournament could aid big-hitting Dustin Johnson’s bid to become a dual winner after success at Augusta in 2020.

He hasn’t been in sparkling form since with just one victory on the DP World Tour but a fourth-place finish at last month’s Dell Technologies Match Play suggested he is coming back into form at the right time.

Scottie Scheffler

The world number one is in blistering form with two PGA Tour wins in his last four four starts, and he also claimed the Dell Technologies Match Play last month.

Scottie Scheffler has only featured in two US Masters tournaments, however, and was tied for 19th and 18th in 2020 and 2021 respectively so he has plenty to prove around Augusta.

Cameron Smith

A big riser in the rankings this year and a man bang in form after winning last month’s Players Championship, Cameron Smith is bidding to become the first Aussie winner since Adam Smith in 2013.

The 28-year-old is the only man to ever shoot four rounds in the 60s at Augusta so it’s fair to say he quite likes the challenging course. He was also tied for second in the 2020 US Masters and fifth in 2018, while never missing the tournament cut in five appearances.
