PGA Valspar Championship
Lucas Glover to win (Each-Way)
It was a superb effort from Lucas Glover at the Players Championship last week, as he gained strokes in all key departments. The last time he did that, he was taking home a second title in as many weeks at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in 2023.
The former US Open champion shot under par in all four rounds at Sawgrass en route to his T3 finish, and he arrives to play the Valspar Championship for a staggering 20th time. He came 11th on his last visit, having once managed a T4.
Success at Innisbrook requires elite iron play. Six of the last eight winners have ranked in the top seven players on approach for the week, and given how he’s played in Florida this year, Glover is a strong candidate to post that sort of performance.
He can be an inconsistent chipper, but Glover has gained strokes around the green in six consecutive appearances at the Valspar. His course experience could be crucial as he seeks his first win in 19 months.
Keith Mitchell to win (Each-Way)
A tee-to-green masterclass allowed Keith Mitchell to take a two-shot lead into the final round at Innisbrook a year ago. Sadly for the American, neither his driving or short game were in good order on the Sunday, as he shot a damaging 77.
Still, it was a second top 20 in three attempts at the venue, and his excellent driving throughout 2025 can provide the basis for another positive outing in Palm Harbor.
Putting has been his problem in recent times, but with everything else in decent shape, it is worth chancing the 33-year-old to go close again.
Singapore Classic
Sam Bairstow to win (Each-Way)
A third-place finish at this event in 2024 saw then-rookie Sam Bairstow make his mark on the DP World Tour, and he’s since become a model of consistency.
He was close to winning the Open De France in the summer, and while he hasn’t quite threatened to break his duck this year, his form figures read 9-11-10-32-16 – a very respectable return as he settles into his second full year on the circuit.
Boasting a fantastic amateur and Challenge Tour resume, Bairstow belongs at this level and has every right to be towards the summit of the betting board in a top-heavy field.
Alejandro Del Rey Top Spanish
With a win to his name already in 2025, Alejandro Del Rey returns to a course where he’s finished T7 and T3 on the DP World Tour.
The Spaniard’s record at Laguna National’s Classic Course bodes well, which is more than can be said for his compatriots teeing off this week. One of his nearest rivals in the Top Spanish market, Jorge Campillo, missed the cut on his only visit in 2023, while Angel Ayora has not played the course.
Ivan Cantero came 49th last year. The Elvira brothers have two missed cuts and no made cuts between them. Rafael Cabrera-Bello has missed both of his cuts at Laguna National, while none of the other Spaniards in the field have appeared at this competition.
