Henrik Norlander – Top 20 Finish Including Ties
Jason Scrivener – Top Oceania

The DP World Tour’s trek through Europe rolls on as the players land in the stunning Swiss Alps at the Crans-Sur-Sierre Golf Club – one of the most picturesque settings in professional golf.

This week’s Omega European Masters will offer challenging play and breathtaking alpine views, just as it has since it became part of the Tour in its inaugural year in 1972.

Jesper Svensson – Top 10 Finish Including Ties

The last four winners on this course have all been debutants. While the field may be too top-heavy for that trend to continue, Jesper Svensson can at least lock in a third consecutive top-10 berth.

The in-form Swede led the Czech Masters three weeks ago after 54 holes before being overtaken by David Ravetto on Sunday. He didn’t let the disappointment in Prague carry over into his next outing, though, as he posted a fifth-place finish in the British Masters.

Three Swedish players have won this event since 2016 and they all did it in very different ways. Ludvig Aberg ranked third in driving distance en route to victory last year, while Sebastian Soderberg and two-time winner Alex Noren leaned more on their short game when coming out on top.

Svensson falls into the former category, while his performance with the putter at The Belfry last week also offers encouragement.

Henrik Norlander – Top 20 Finish Including Ties

At the risk of fixating too much on debutants and Swedes, Henrik Norlander appeals at what looks like a generous price in the top 20 market.

The 37-year-old has been playing steadily since July – a month that saw him make four consecutive cuts on the PGA Tour, including a T11 and a T12. In the last of those events, the 3M Open, Norlander ranked third from tee to green but putted too poorly to contend for the win.

At the British Masters, Norlander led the field in greens in regulation on Thursday, but the flat stick caused more problems. On Sunday, though, he was above the tournament average in that department, which gives me hope that all elements of his game can come together in Crans-Montana.

Jason Scrivener – Top Oceania

There are five choices in the Top Oceania market this week and given that the top two in the betting, David Micheluzzi and Jason Scrivener, have both finished 31st or better in each of the last two weeks on the DP World Tour while none of the others have made more than one cut in the last nine weeks, I’m happy to narrow it down to the two favourites.

Preference is for Scrivener who, if it wasn’t for a third-round 73 in this competition last year, could have been in the mix towards the top of the leaderboard.

The Australian had made little impression at the Crans-Sur-Sierre Golf Club until 2023 when his accuracy off the tee put him in the perfect spots to find the greens and shoot 65 on both Friday and Sunday.

Scrivener ranks in the Tour’s top 40 for driving accuracy, strokes gained on approach, and greens in regulation for 2024, while Micheluzzi is outside the top 90 in each of those categories.
