When did Rory McIlroy last win a major golf championship?

Can Rory win at Pinehurst?

Rory McIlroy PGA Championship 2014

Rory McIlroy is one of the best golfers in the game and is often considered to be one of Europe’s best bets when it comes to winning major championships.

Between 2011 and 2014 he won a remarkable four majors, The US Open, the PGA Championship twice and The Open. Since then, the Northern Irishman has struggled to get over the line, however.

McIlroy’s last victory came in the PGA at Valhalla in 2014, which was also the location for this year’s edition. The Career Grand Slam is what’s eluded him, with a second-placed finish in 2022 his best result at the Masters.

He’s come close on several occasions in the past decade, but he’s now 35, and every golf fan has been left wondering if he will ever win again.

At this year’s Masters, he was tipped to challenge, but in reality, he was well off the pace and couldn’t get close to eventual champion Scottie Scheffler, while he tied for 12th in the PGA.

Pinehurst is next on the agenda and you can find all the US Open odds on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app.

Scheffler will be fancied by most given how well he’s done since the turn of the year, while Xander Schauffele will be looking to back up his PGA triumph.

Surely most fans in Ireland and the UK will be cheering on McIlroy though, right?
