The Ryder Cup is heading to Italy for the first time in history as Team Europe attempt to wrestle back the famous trophy from their rivals on the other side of the pond.
The US romped to a 19-9 victory on home soil – the largest winning margin in the modern history of the tournament – in 2021 and are bidding to retain the cup for the first time in 30 years.
Zach Johnson, who has two majors on his CV, captains the visiting team while former world number one Luke Donald leads Europe in their bid for redemption.

Ryder Cup 2023 dates
The 44th edition of the Ryder Cup is scheduled to take place between Friday, September 29 and Sunday, October 1.
Ryder Cup 2023 venue
The Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, located 17km outside the Italian capital city of Rome, is the venue for the 2023 Ryder Cup. It was, of course, supposed to be held in 2022 but the coronavirus pandemic means we’re back on odd-numbered years.
