The penultimate PGA Tour event of the year brings us back to the Midwest, for the BMW Championship at the Olympia Fields Country Club south of Chicago. 50 golfers will descend on the lush parkland course as the race to the Tour championship reaches its final hurdle.

The 7366 yard, Par 70 presents a lot of challenges for the world’s best this week. Tree-lined fairways along with thick rough will require accuracy off the tee. Length is also beneficial around Olympia Fields, with both par-5s measuring over 600 yards. A real test is in-store this weekend for the Tour’s Elite.

Jon Rahm

Jon Rahm won this event here in 2020 and his game is in a good place to be contending again this week. His tee to green game along with the abilityto grind out a score makes Rahm a big threat to come out on top. The current leader in the FedEx standings, Rahm has had a fantastic season to date. With two wins and ten top-tens already this season, the Spaniard will be looking to solidify his first-place standing heading into the Tour Championship next week.

Viktor Hovland (each way)

One thing Viktor Hovland doesn’t lack is length. One of the biggest hitters on Tour, Viktor should flourish around Olympia Fields. The Norwegian had a very promising showing at the St Jude Classic last week only finishing five back in T-13th place. He’s been incredibly consistent this season having not missed a cut in over a year. Add in a win at the Memorial and seven Top-Ten finishes it would be no surprise to see Viktor competing on Sunday.

Viktor Hovland, july 2023

Max Homa (each way)

Max Homa’s form lately has been very promising. He’s been trending upwards having gone 21-12-10-6 in that order. Paired with two wins and ten top-tens, Homa has the ability to compete with the best. He’s been very consistent from tee-green all year, and his value along with form appeals this week for an each-way bet.

Adam Schenk (each way)

Adam Schenk has had a very impressive rise on Tour this year. With six top-tens already this season, the Mid-West native is one to watch this week. He performed very well off the tee in Memphis last week which helped him shoot four rounds in the 60s resulting in a T-6th finish. Currently, in 24th place in the Fed Ex standings, Schenk comes in this week at a very high price and could be well worth an each-way punt.
