Open Championship 2023 prize money breakdown and winner’s earnings

Money talks in golf!

Cameron Smith with the Claret Jug

It’s not just the Claret Jug on offer to the field of 156 players competing at the 2023 Open Championship.

I guess you could argue that pride is on the line but it’s really all about the money. The cold, hard cash. The wonga. The dough. The bread.

A mahoosive increase to the prize fund means Rory McIlroy and co are playing for their share of $16,500,000 at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club.

Aussie Cameron Smith took home a tidy $2,500,000 for landing last year’s Open Championship and this season’s winner is set to bag a novelty-sized cheque worth even more.

It pays to make the cut as $37,800 will be handed over to the lowest finisher after round four on Sunday, while those who fail to reach the weekend can console themselves with a sum worth between $8,500 and $12,000.

Open Championship odds are on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise the prize money breakdown for this year’s final major can be found below.
