Royal Liverpool hosts the Open Championship for the 13th time in history and it will be returning to the Merseyside course for the first time since McIlroy’s famous triumph in 2014.
A total of 156 players are set to contest this year’s tournament, including 15 previous winners, although the GOAT – Tiger Woods – will not be among the group as he continues to recover from ankle surgery.
