WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Wyndham Championship

This looks relatively open in terms of the betting but the one I feel everyone has to beat is Sungjae Im. He’s played 12 rounds here and he’s never shot over 70. He has the best scoring average over the last three years. He could have won it the first couple of years and his putter let him down slightly last year. His putter cost him in the Open but he seems to have found a solution and he was second to Tony Finau in the 3M Open. He’s the class act and he’s a course specialist.

I’m also taking a chance on Davis Riley. He’s been a feature of the leaderboards this year but he’s also been hit and miss. He’s a young player who makes plenty of birdies but he’s got a mistake in him. Being back in the southern states will help him as he went to college in Alabama. He’ll deal with the heat and the course.

Adam Svensson is my first outsider pick. He’s a promising Canadian player and he’s coming into his own now. His irons are dialled in, which is perfect for this course as you can’t overpower it from the tee. You can attack pins and he’s doing that as well as anyone.

The final selection is Michael Thompson. He’s a two-time PGA Tour winner and he arrives in form. He’s had a couple of top 30 finishes recently and he played well in Detroit last week. He’s got a touch of class and he’s a huge price.

Cazoo Open

I don’t see why Sean Crocker can’t go again here. He won the English Open last week and it’s a short trip to Wales this week. He’s probably the best driver in this field and he’s got all the talent in the world. I think he’ll be a PGA Tour player in time. We were just waiting for him to find something on the greens and he’s doing that at the moment. He’ll be totally focused on climbing through the ranks and he can go back to back.

Matthias Schmid is also worth keeping an eye on. He is great with his driver and he played here last year. He arrives in good form and he could be right in the mix.
