After a three year wait, Rory McIlroy gets to defend his title. There’s a handful of the best players in the world playing but the quality drops off considerably after them.
Tyrrell Hatton is my first pick. He’s played really well and made every cut this year. He’s playing well but he hasn’t had courses that suit him over the last few months. However, this one could be it. It’s not all about power, there is more of a focus on accuracy.
Adam Hadwin has shown he can stand up to the challenge of facing off against top players. He has three top 10 finishes in this event. He’s been solid this season and he drives it straight and builds on that.

Scandinavian Mixed
This tournament was brilliant last season and there was plenty of drama. The field this year is weaker than last year’s tournament but I still think we’ll get a male winner.
My first pick is Henrik Stenson. I like the fact that he came back to Europe a week early and he finished midway in Germany. He was also in Rome too. He doesn’t like using the driver and a smaller course suits him – and that’s exactly what he’s got here.
He’s still got a touch of class and he went close last year in better tournament’s than this.
Jason Scrivener had a big chance to win this last year but he fell short. He’s got a score to settle and I fancy him to bounce back. He will have learnt a lot from last year.
He’s not the biggest hitter in the world but he’s really good with his approach play and his putter. He’s solid and I’ll be disappointed if he’s not in and around the top 10.
This weekend’s golf tips:
Henrik Stenson
Jason Scrivener
