Steve Stricker has announced his six captain’s picks to complete Team USA’s roster for the 2021 Ryder Cup.
The former world number two will lead the United States at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin with assistance from Jim Furyk, Zach Johnson and Davis Love III.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
Team USA suffered a comprehensive defeat to Europe in the last edition of the Ryder Cup held in France almost three years ago.

2021 Open Championship winner Collin Morikawa finished top of the Points List with 18,883.82 to book his spot in Stricker’s team, while fellow double Major winner, Dustin Johnson, was second with a score of 18,058.24.
The big-hitting Bryson DeChambeau is another big name to have automatically qualified for Team USA, with victory in March’s Arnold Palmer Invitational being the highlight of his season.
Brooks Koepka edged out Justin Thomas for fourth place on the Points List and Patrick Cantlay was the final automatic qualifier thanks to a storming run of form over the summer that saw him bag the BMW Championship and Tour Championship to secure the FedEX Cup and the bumper $15,000,000 bonus.
Stricker’s captain’s picks includes four rookies to take the team’s total to six Ryder Cup newbies. 2021 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am winner Daniel Berger is one of the new boys in the team along with Harris English, who has two PGA Tour titles to his name this year.
Tony Finau missed out on automatic qualification by the skin of his teeth due to Cantlay’s brilliant form of late, however, the Northern Trust winner is included in a Ryder Cup team for the second time. Olympic Games gold medalist Xander Schauffele also makes Stricker’s squad having placed eighth in the Points List.
Scottie Scheffler has made a major step forward in 2021 with three top-10 finishes in Major Championships, while Jordan Spieth will represent the USA at his fourth Ryder Cup and he’s picked up one PGA Tour title – the Valero Texas Open – this year.
