With all four Majors done and dusted for 2021, it’s time for Europe and USA to do battle on the fairways once again.

A year later than planned due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Ryder Cup is set to swing into town as the world’s best golfers team up for three days of thrilling competition.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Europe will be crossing the pond to defend the trophy after thrashing their transatlantic rivals in France three years ago.

Below you’ll find the key information you need ahead of the Ryder Cup 2021 including Paddy Power’s odds.

Ryder Cup 2021 Dates

The Ryder Cup 2021 takes place over three days between Friday September 24 and Sunday September 26. The tee times are as follows:

Friday foursomes: 1.05pm, 1.21pm, 1.37pm and 1.53pm
Friday fourballs: 6.10pm, 6.26pm, 6.42pm and 6.58pm
Saturday foursomes: 1.05pm, 1.21pm, 1.37pm and 1.53pm
Saturday fourballs: 6.10pm, 6.26pm, 6.42pm and 6.58pm

Ryder Cup 2021 Venue

It’s the USA’s turn to play host and the Ryder Cup 2021 will be held at Whistling Straits in Haven, Wisconsin. Designed by Pete and Alice Dye, the Straits course is a Par 71, totalling 7,390 yards.

The Straits course sounds like a beaut. “Open, rugged and windswept terrain defines the walking-only, links-style Straits course sculpted along two miles of Lake Michigan shoreline,” it says on the Ryder Cup‘s official website.

Golf boffins might remember Jason Day’s victory at Whistling Straits in the 2015 PGA Championship.

Ryder Cup 2021 Format

The Ryder Cup has a pretty straightforward format so it’s difficult to get confused. Quite simply, each match is worth one point to the victor and half a point is notched if it ends in a tie.

A total of 28 matches take place over the three days of competition so the first team to 14½ points claims the glory. If the scores are level at 14-14 by the end of Sunday’s play then the previous winners retain the Ryder Cup.

Friday (Day 1): Four foursome matches & four fourball matches
Saturday (Day 2): Four foursome matches & four fourball matches
Sunday (Day 3): 12 singles matches

Ryder Cup 2021 Odds

USA are the favourites in Paddy Power’s Ryder Cup betting market to regain the trophy from Europe, who came out on top at the Albatros Course at Le Golf National in France in 2018.

The home team has won six of the last seven editions of the competition, with Europe’s famous miracle at Medinah in 2012 still relatively fresh in the memory.

USA – 8/15
Europe -15/8
Tie – 11/1
