The groups for this year’s Open Championship have been revealed and here’s all you need to know ahead of Thursday’s big tee off.

Some big-name players including Masters champ Hideki Matsuyama and Bubba Watson are absent for coronavirus-related reasons but a quality field will tackle the rolling undulations of the fairways at Royal St George’s.

If you want to catch all the action then you’ll have to set an early alarm to see the English trio of Richard Bland, Andy Sullivan and Marcus Armitage get underway from the first at 6.35am.

New to Paddy Power?

As it’s a one-tee start at The Open, the field are staggered throughout the day with the final group heading off at 4.16pm.

The tee times are flipped for the second day – the early starters go later and vice versa – as the threat of the cut looms.

Below you’ll find all the tee times, our top tips and Paddy Power’s latest odds for the 2021 Open Championship.

The Open 2021 Tips

Paddy’s golf trader Iain McLaughlin is backing Kevin Kisner to top the leaderboard after the first round at Royal St George’s.

Kevin Kisner has a really good Open record and he’s made four cuts in a row. He’s prone to a first-round lead on the PGA Tour and he could take his chance this week.

With these majors, the top end of the market are looking to get in position on Thursday and plot their way into the weekend. The bigger priced guys know it’s a chance to get a first-round lead and see if they can kick on. Kisner has that mentality and he can get a fast start.

Generous Paddy is paying 12 PLACES and our top trader has four value each-way picks including two-time winner Padraig Harrington.

It’s the one major when players who are a little bit older can still contend. Harrington relishes the grind and the conditions. It’s also links golf which is where he seems to excel. He’s in decent form too and he was 18th in Scotland last week. It would be emotional if he wins it for the third time on Sunday.
